I'm raising awareness that it's okay to acknowledge the emotional struggles that all parents face at some point. That perfection in parenting is unattainable and that it's ok to talk about it. The more we discuss our journeys and support one another, the better we can enhance the parenting path and create a positive experience for all in society.
As a fully trained Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist, I have dedicated my life to delving into the realms of human psychology, somatics and spirituality. This exploration began after experiencing burnout and undergoing a significant personal transformation.
Throughout my life, I have observed the emotional challenges of maintaining a silent struggle as a parent.
For generations, parents in my family have grappled with feelings like shame and guilt, societal pressures, and, the act of silently enduring. From cot deaths, miscarriages, secret adoptions, misdiagnosed postnatal depression leading to involuntary admission to psychiatric facilities, and enduring undiagnosed prolonged depression, I have felt the silent pain of my ancestors following me like a somber shadow.
The stigma remained unchanged as I observed my nearest and dearest navigate their paths to parenthood. Some experienced success, while others faced difficulties, each with its unique narrative, its own silence, and sometimes, its own haunting shadow.
These encounters deeply impacted my own desire to become a mother, leading me to develop emotional coping mechanisms that kept me closed off, fueling chronic anxiety, low self esteem, panic attacks, and self-sabotage through alcohol. Seeking help, I delved into Cognitive Behaviour and Hypnotherapy, unraveling how this inherited silent suffering had affected me. Although it's too late for me to embark on my pregnancy journey now, coming to terms with this reality took some time. However, becoming a stepmother to two little ones and a deep desire to help others has fueled my passion for supporting individuals dealing with emotional challenges and experiencing isolation without a place to find reassurance and comfort.
I combine Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, and Hypnotherapy techniques to provide comfort, reassurance, and support to individuals navigating emotional challenges during their parenthood path.
